FORAGE WORKSHOP - OCTOBER 29 - AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER!
The WRSWCD received a check in the amount of 1796.00 from the Northwest Farm Credit Service.
The District applied for a small grant to educate landowners of the importants of Forage Sampling.
Due to the drought in the area and lack of irriation water the nutrient value of the
forage may differ significantly.
We will host a workshop in Wednesday, October 29th with the findings!
FORAGE SAMPLING FOR SUCCESS!
FORAGE SAMPLING - SUMMER OF 2014 !
THE DISTRICT WILL PROVIDE FREE SAMPLING, INFORMATION AND EDUCATION
WHO: The WRSWCD has received a grant from NorthWest Farm Credit Service to gather forage samples for information and educational purposes.
WHAT: We need 10 landowners interested in participating who aren’t currently testing their forage.
WHY: The information gained from this project will be utilized by landowners and community in a workshop to determine further direction in meeting nutritional needs of the livestock and provide insight to the landowners feed budget. Testing forage is a valuable tool for matching each feedstuff to the stage of production and class of animal, therefore supplying feed or forage in the most efficient manner.
